Session 32.1 — God Comforts His People
Read: 2 Corinthians 1:3–4
In 2 Corinthians 1:3–4, God is called the “Father of mercies” and the “God of all comfort.” He comforts us in all our afflictions so that we can comfort others who are going through similar struggles. God’s comfort is not only for our healing but also equips us to extend that same comfort to others in their times of need. We can comfort others by offering empathy, encouragement, and prayer, reminding them of God’s presence and love. Today, let’s comfort someone with the encouragement and love that God has shown to us.
Session 32.2 — The Lord Heals the Brokenhearted
Read: Psalm 147:3
Psalm 147:3 tells us that the Lord heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. God has a special heart for those who are hurting, and He is gentle and compassionate with them. His healing is not just physical but emotional and spiritual as well. When we bring our hurts to God, we can trust that He will care for us, offering His peace and comfort. Today, let’s tell God about something that hurts, trusting that He will heal and comfort us in our pain.
Session 32.3 — Cast Your Care on Him
Read: 1 Peter 5:7
In 1 Peter 5:7, we are told to cast all our anxieties on God because He cares for us. God invites us to bring our worries, fears, and burdens to Him, trusting that He will take care of them. We can trust God with our worries because He is loving, faithful, and fully capable of handling everything we face. When we trust God with our cares, we experience His peace that surpasses understanding. Today, let’s give one worry to God, knowing that He is taking care of it for us.
Session 32.4 — God Is Close to the Brokenhearted
Read: Psalm 34:18
Psalm 34:18 assures us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. God’s presence brings comfort to those who are grieving or struggling, offering hope and healing. He understands our pain and is with us in our darkest moments, offering His love and compassion. God’s nearness to the brokenhearted shows His tender care for us in our times of trouble. Today, let’s thank God for staying close to us in hard times, offering His comfort and healing.
Session 32.5 — Peace in Trouble
Read: John 16:33
In John 16:33, Jesus promises that, though we will face trouble in this world, He has overcome the world. This promise brings peace, knowing that Jesus has already won the victory over sin and death. Despite the trials and difficulties we face, we can take courage because Jesus has overcome them, and He is with us. His peace is available to us, even in the midst of trouble. Today, let’s take courage in Jesus, knowing that He is our source of peace and victory.
