Session 9.1 — Give Thanks Always
Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Paul teaches us to give thanks in all circumstances, because this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus. Gratitude is not limited to good times; God calls us to thank Him in every situation. Thankfulness aligns our hearts with God’s will and reminds us of His faithfulness, even in difficult moments. Gratitude changes our attitude by shifting our focus from problems to God’s provision. Today, let’s say three things we are thankful for, choosing to cultivate a heart of gratitude.
Session 9.2 — God Is Good
Read: Psalm 107:1
Psalm 107:1 encourages us to give thanks to the Lord because He is good, and His mercy endures forever. God’s goodness is a reason for constant thanksgiving, as He is always faithful, loving, and kind. His mercy means that He shows us compassion, even when we don’t deserve it. Today, let’s thank God for His goodness in prayer, acknowledging all the ways He has shown His mercy and love to us.
Session 9.3 — Thankfulness and Peace
Read: Colossians 3:15
Colossians 3:15 teaches us that the peace of Christ should rule in our hearts, and we should be thankful. Thankfulness brings peace because it helps us focus on God’s blessings rather than our worries. Gratitude strengthens our connection with God and fosters unity among believers. Today, let’s thank someone in our family, showing appreciation and fostering peace through gratitude.
Session 9.4 — Remember God’s Benefits
Read: Psalm 103:2
Psalm 103:2 encourages us to remember and not forget all of God’s benefits. When we remember what God has done for us—His forgiveness, provision, and faithfulness—it strengthens our faith and deepens our gratitude. Reflecting on God’s goodness helps us trust Him more fully. Today, let’s name one blessing from God, remembering how He has been faithful to us.
Session 9.5 — Thankful Worship
Read: Hebrews 12:28
In Hebrews 12:28, we are reminded that we have received a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and our response should be worship with gratitude. Worshiping God with a thankful heart is our natural response to His goodness and grace. Gratitude deepens our worship, helping us to honor God with our best. Today, let’s worship God with a thankful heart, offering Him praise for all that He has done in our lives.
