WEEK 6 — Obedience

Session 6.1 — Love Shown by Obedience
Read: John 14:15
In John 14:15, Jesus says that if we love Him, we will obey His commands. Love for Jesus is not just about words or feelings, but about following His teachings and doing what He asks of us. Obedience is the outward expression of our love for Jesus, showing that we value His instructions above all else. Today, let’s obey one clear instruction from God’s Word, demonstrating our love for Him through our actions.

Session 6.2 — Obedience Better Than Sacrifice
Read: 1 Samuel 15:22
In 1 Samuel 15:22, God tells King Saul that obedience is better than sacrifice. While sacrifice was an important part of worship, God desires obedience from His people above all else. Obeying God shows that we value His will and trust His wisdom more than our own ideas. Listening to God is essential because it aligns our hearts with His purposes. Today, let’s listen carefully to parents or leaders, practicing obedience in all that we do.

Session 6.3 — Children Obeying Parents
Read: Ephesians 6:1
In Ephesians 6:1, God commands children to obey their parents because it is right and pleases the Lord. Obedience to parents shows a heart that honors authority and reflects respect for God’s design. When we obey, we demonstrate a heart that is willing to follow God’s instructions for living. Today, let’s obey our parents quickly and cheerfully, honoring God through our obedience.

Session 6.4 — Doers of the Word
Read: James 1:22
James 1:22 warns us not to be hearers of the Word only, but doers as well. Hearing God’s Word without obeying it is like looking at a mirror and forgetting what we saw. Obedience to God’s Word means putting His instructions into action in our lives. Today, let’s put one Bible truth into action, practicing what we have learned and living it out in our daily lives.

Session 6.5 — Blessed by Hearing and Keeping
Read: Luke 11:28
In Luke 11:28, Jesus says that those who hear and obey God’s Word are blessed. Keeping God’s Word means living according to His will and making His commands a priority in our lives. Obedience brings blessing because it aligns us with God’s perfect plan for our lives. Today, let’s keep one verse in mind all day, reflecting on how we can live out that truth and experience the blessings of obedience.
