Session 35.1 — Rejoice in the Lord Always
Read: Philippians 4:4
In Philippians 4:4, Paul commands us to rejoice in the Lord always, regardless of circumstances. This command highlights that joy in the Lord is not based on our external situation but on our relationship with Him. Joy is different from happiness because it is rooted in God’s faithfulness, love, and the hope we have in Him, not in temporary circumstances. Even in hard times, we can rejoice because God is with us, and He works all things for our good. Today, let’s thank God with joy, focusing on His unchanging goodness and love.
Session 35.2 — The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength
Read: Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy in God empowers us to persevere through challenges, providing spiritual strength and resilience. When we delight in God’s presence and promises, it sustains us even when we face difficult situations. Joy helps us keep going because it shifts our focus from our troubles to the hope we have in God. Today, let’s smile and thank God for His joy, knowing that it is the strength we need to face each day.
Session 35.3 — Fullness of Joy
Read: Psalm 16:11
Psalm 16:11 tells us that in God’s presence, there is fullness of joy. Being near God, experiencing His love, and walking in His ways bring a deep, lasting joy that nothing else can provide. This joy is not fleeting or dependent on external circumstances but is rooted in our relationship with God. We can enjoy God’s presence today by seeking Him in prayer, Scripture, and worship. Let’s spend time thanking God for His presence, which fills us with joy and peace.
Session 35.4 — Joy in God Our Saviour
Read: Habakkuk 3:18
Habakkuk 3:18 reminds us that, even in times of trouble, we can rejoice in God our Savior. Joy in God is not dependent on our circumstances but on our trust in His sovereignty and goodness. Trusting in God brings us joy because we know He is in control and that He is working everything for our good. God is our reason for joy, regardless of what we face. Today, let’s choose joy in God, remembering that our salvation and hope in Him are reasons to rejoice.
Session 35.5 — Joy That No One Can Take Away
Read: John 16:22
In John 16:22, Jesus promises a joy that no one can take away. The joy found in Christ is lasting and eternal, unlike the temporary happiness that can be taken away by life’s circumstances. This joy is rooted in our relationship with Jesus, knowing that He has conquered sin and death for us. No matter what happens, we can experience the deep, abiding joy that comes from knowing Christ. Today, let’s thank Jesus for the lasting joy He gives us, which remains secure in Him forever.
