WEEK 29 — God’s Protection and Peace

Session 29.1 — The Lord Is My Light
Read: Psalm 27:1
In Psalm 27:1, David declares that the Lord is his light and salvation, which means that God is the source of everything that brings life, guidance, and security. When God is our light, there is no reason to fear, for He leads us out of darkness and provides clarity in uncertain times. God is also our salvation, meaning He rescues and protects us from harm. His presence removes fear because we know He is with us, guiding and protecting us. Today, let’s thank God for being our light, the one who dispels all darkness in our lives.

Session 29.2 — The Lord Is My Shield
Read: Psalm 3:3
Psalm 3:3 reminds us that God is our shield, protecting us from the attacks of the enemy and from harm. A shield provides safety by absorbing the force of attacks, and in the same way, God protects us from dangers, both physical and spiritual. When we feel weak or threatened, God is the one who lifts up our heads, giving us strength and courage. Today, let’s thank God for His protection, trusting that He is our shield, keeping us safe from harm.

Session 29.3 — Peace From God
Read: John 14:27
In John 14:27, Jesus offers us peace, but not the kind of peace the world gives. His peace is a deep, abiding peace that comes from knowing Him and trusting in His control over our lives. Unlike the temporary peace of the world, which is based on circumstances, God’s peace transcends all understanding and remains in our hearts, even in the midst of difficulties. We can receive God’s peace by trusting in His promises and surrendering our fears to Him. Today, let’s ask Jesus for His peace, knowing that it will guard our hearts and minds.

Session 29.4 — The Lord Gives Peace
Read: Numbers 6:26
Numbers 6:26 is part of the priestly blessing, where God’s peace is poured out upon His people. God’s peace is a precious gift because it calms our hearts, brings us rest, and enables us to live in harmony with one another. Peace affects not only our personal lives but also the atmosphere in our homes and relationships. When God’s peace fills our hearts, it overflows into our families, creating an environment of love and unity. Today, let’s pray for peace in our families, asking God to bless our homes with His presence and tranquility.

Session 29.5 — Perfect Peace
Read: Isaiah 26:3
Isaiah 26:3 promises that God will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him because they trust in Him. When we focus on God and trust in His sovereignty, His peace fills our hearts and minds. This peace is perfect, meaning it is complete, unwavering, and unaffected by external circumstances. Focusing on God, especially when we feel anxious or worried, brings peace because we are reminded of His control and care. Today, let’s think about God when we feel worried, trusting that He will keep us in perfect peace as we focus on Him.
