Session 1.1 — God Made Everything
Read: Genesis 1:1
In Genesis 1:1, we read that “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” God, in His infinite power and wisdom, created everything from nothing. This teaches us that God is all-powerful and the ultimate Creator of the universe. Remembering that God is the Creator helps us recognize His authority over all things and encourages us to honor Him. Today, let’s thank God for one thing He has created, acknowledging His creativity and greatness.
Session 1.2 — God Is Above Creation
Read: Psalm 8:3–4
In Psalm 8:3–4, the psalmist reflects on the vastness of the heavens and wonders why God, who made all of creation, would care about people. Yet, God does care for us deeply. The heavens declare God’s greatness, but His love for humanity is evident in how He interacts with us personally. This understanding should make us feel humble and grateful toward God, recognizing our smallness in comparison to His greatness but also His intimate care for us. Today, let’s look at the sky and thank God for His greatness.
Session 1.3 — God’s Word Created
Read: Psalm 33:6, 9
In Psalm 33:6 and 9, we learn that God created everything through His Word. His spoken Word has power to bring all things into existence. This shows us that God’s Word is powerful, reliable, and worthy of our attention. When we listen to God’s Word, we are hearing the voice of the Creator who has authority over all things. Today, let’s obey one instruction from God’s Word, acknowledging that His Word is the foundation of our lives.
Session 1.4 — Creation Shows God’s Glory
Read: Psalm 19:1
Psalm 19:1 declares that “the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” Creation itself is a testimony of God’s glory, and every part of it points to His greatness, beauty, and creativity. We can see God’s glory in the world around us—in the stars, the oceans, and even in the smallest details of nature. Today, let’s name one way creation shows God’s glory and praise Him for it.
Session 1.5 — God Is the Only True God
Read: Isaiah 45:18
In Isaiah 45:18, we are reminded that God is the Creator of the earth and everything in it. Unlike false gods, God is the only true God, and He alone deserves our worship. He is unique in His power, wisdom, and goodness, and there is no one like Him. Today, let’s thank God for being the only true God, and commit to worshiping Him alone.
