Session 48.1 — Give Glory to God
Read: 1 Corinthians 10:31
In 1 Corinthians 10:31, Paul reminds us that whatever we do—whether eating, drinking, or any other task—should be done for the glory of God. This teaches us that our actions are an opportunity to honor God, not just the grand, spiritual activities, but also the mundane aspects of daily life. Every action, no matter how small, can reflect God’s greatness when done with a heart of gratitude and obedience. God deserves glory because He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and everything in our lives can point back to His goodness. Today, let’s intentionally focus on doing everything “for God’s glory.”
Session 48.2 — Worship in Spirit and Truth
Read: John 4:24
In John 4:24, Jesus teaches that true worshipers worship God in spirit and in truth. Worship is not just about external actions or rituals; it comes from the heart, guided by the Holy Spirit and rooted in the truth of God’s Word. This means that our worship must be sincere, not just going through the motions but genuinely acknowledging who God is. Truth is vital because worship without a right understanding of God is not worship at all. Our family can worship God sincerely by praying, reading Scripture, and living in a way that honors Him.
Session 48.3 — Let Everything Praise the Lord
Read: Psalm 150:6
Psalm 150:6 calls for all creation to praise the Lord, for everything that has breath to praise Him. Praise is not just an activity for believers—it is the natural response of all creation to the Creator. Praise is always right because God is worthy of it, and it is part of fulfilling the purpose for which we were created. Every moment, every breath, is an opportunity to praise God. As a family, we can praise God today by lifting our voices in song, expressing gratitude for His many blessings, and acknowledging His greatness in all things.
Session 48.4 — The Lord Is Worthy
Read: Revelation 4:11
Revelation 4:11 declares that the Lord is worthy of all glory, honor, and power because He created all things. God’s worthiness is rooted in His role as Creator—everything in existence is a reflection of His power and wisdom. The entire universe points to His glory. Creation itself, from the vastness of the stars to the smallest details of life, declares God’s greatness. As we reflect on God’s creation, we are reminded of His majesty and the responsibility we have to worship Him. Today, let’s thank God for His creation and for His incredible worthiness to be praised.
Session 48.5 — Bless His Holy Name
Read: Psalm 103:1
Psalm 103:1 invites us to bless the Lord with all that is within us, praising His holy name. To bless God’s name means to speak well of Him, to honor Him for who He is and what He has done. Praise should come from the depths of our hearts, not as a duty but as an overflow of love and awe for God. When we praise God with our whole heart, we acknowledge His greatness, goodness, and holiness. Today, we can bless God by remembering one specific blessing He has given us and offering our heartfelt gratitude to Him.
