WEEK 41 — God’s Peace and Rest

Session 41.1 — Come Unto Me
Read: Matthew 11:28
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus extends a loving invitation to all who are weary and burdened, offering rest. This promise is for everyone—those carrying physical, emotional, or spiritual burdens. Jesus invites us to come to Him, surrender our worries, and find peace in His presence. Rest in Christ means finding relief from the weight of life’s difficulties, knowing that He cares for us and will carry us through. Today, let’s bring one burden to Jesus in prayer, trusting in His promise of rest.

Session 41.2 — The Lord Gives Rest
Read: Exodus 33:14
In Exodus 33:14, God promises to give His people rest, not just physical rest, but peace in their hearts through His presence. God’s presence is intimately connected to rest because when we trust in His guidance and protection, we experience peace, even in challenging circumstances. Trusting God brings us inner peace because we know that He is in control and will provide for us. Today, let’s thank God for His presence in our lives, which brings true rest and peace.

Session 41.3 — Rest in the Lord
Read: Psalm 37:7
Psalm 37:7 encourages us to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Resting in the Lord means trusting His timing and His plans, even when we don’t understand everything. Waiting on God can be hard because we often want immediate answers or action, but resting in Him shows that we trust in His perfect will. When we rest in the Lord, we are acknowledging that He is in control and that His plans are always for our good. Today, let’s take one minute to be still before the Lord, resting in His presence and trusting in His guidance.

Session 41.4 — Peace Like a River
Read: Isaiah 48:18
Isaiah 48:18 connects peace with obedience to God’s commands. When we follow God’s ways, we experience peace that flows like a river—constant, refreshing, and abundant. Obedience to God brings peace because it aligns our hearts with His will, and His will is always for our good. Peace comes when we trust in God’s ways, knowing that His path leads to life and joy. Today, let’s obey God quickly, trusting that His way is the best way and will bring peace to our hearts.

Session 41.5 — God Gives Sleep to His Beloved
Read: Psalm 127:2
Psalm 127:2 reminds us that sleep is a gift from God, and He gives it to His beloved. God cares about our rest because He knows that we need it to be refreshed and renewed. When we trust in God’s provision and care, we can rest peacefully, knowing that He is taking care of everything. Sleep is a reminder of God’s grace and a chance to physically and spiritually rest in Him. Tonight, let’s thank God for the gift of rest, trusting in His care as we sleep.
