Session 28.1 — The Lord Is My Shepherd
Read: Psalm 23:1
In Psalm 23:1, David declares that the Lord is his Shepherd, which means that God cares for us, leads us, and provides for us. As our Shepherd, God ensures that we lack nothing, guiding us to green pastures and still waters. This brings contentment because we know that God is in control, providing everything we need, both physically and spiritually. When we trust God as our Shepherd, we can be content, knowing that He will lead us in the right paths. Today, let’s thank God for caring for us and providing for all our needs.
Session 28.2 — Be Content With What You Have
Read: Hebrews 13:5
In Hebrews 13:5, we are told to avoid the love of money and to be content with what we have, because God has promised never to leave or forsake us. Contentment comes from trusting in God’s provision and recognizing that He is enough. When we focus on what we already have—God’s presence, His love, and His provision—our hearts are free from the desire for more. God promises to meet our needs, and that is a reason to be content. Today, let’s thank God for what we already have, knowing that He is enough for us.
Session 28.3 — God Supplies Our Needs
Read: Philippians 4:19
In Philippians 4:19, Paul reassures us that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. God is our provider, meeting our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We can trust God to provide because He is faithful, loving, and powerful. When we trust in God’s provision, we experience peace and contentment, knowing that He will never fail to meet our needs. Today, let’s thank God for one need He has already met, trusting that He will continue to provide.
Session 28.4 — Learned Contentment
Read: Philippians 4:11
In Philippians 4:11, Paul shares that he has learned to be content in whatever circumstance he finds himself. Contentment is not something that comes naturally; it is something we learn through trusting God in all situations. Whether we have plenty or are in need, we can be content knowing that God is with us and will provide what we need. We can practice contentment by focusing on God’s faithfulness and choosing to be grateful for what we have, rather than focusing on what we lack. Today, let’s say, “Thank you, Lord,” for what we have, practicing contentment in every situation.
Session 28.5 — Trust in the Lord Always
Read: Psalm 62:8
Psalm 62:8 encourages us to trust in the Lord at all times, pouring out our hearts to Him because He is our refuge. Trusting God always means we rely on Him in every circumstance, knowing that He is our safe place. We can pour out our hearts to God because He cares for us and listens to our concerns. God is our refuge, offering us protection, peace, and security. Today, let’s tell God something on our heart, trusting that He will hear us and provide the refuge and peace we need.
