WEEK 18 — The Church Family

Session 18.1 — Members of One Body
Read: 1 Corinthians 12:12
In 1 Corinthians 12:12, Paul compares the church to a body, with each member playing a unique and important role. Just as a body needs every part to function properly, every member of the church is essential to its health and growth. Each person’s gifts, talents, and contributions matter, and the church cannot thrive without the involvement of every member. Today, let’s pray for someone in our church, asking God to bless them and use their gifts to serve the body of Christ.

Session 18.2 — Love the Brethren
Read: 1 John 3:14
In 1 John 3:14, we are told that loving fellow believers is a sign that we belong to Christ. Love for the brethren is foundational to the life of the church because it reflects Christ’s love for us. Loving one another helps build unity, fosters fellowship, and encourages spiritual growth within the church community. Today, let’s encourage someone at church, showing them the love of Christ through our words and actions.

Session 18.3 — Assemble Together
Read: Hebrews 10:24–25
Hebrews 10:24–25 emphasizes the importance of gathering together as believers for worship, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Church is a place where we can stir one another up to love and good works, offering support and accountability. Regular assembly strengthens our faith and encourages us to continue growing in Christ. Today, let’s be faithful to attend church, knowing that our presence encourages others and helps us grow in our relationship with God.

Session 18.4 — Bearing One Another’s Burdens
Read: Galatians 6:2
In Galatians 6:2, we are instructed to bear one another’s burdens, which means supporting and helping each other in times of need. The church is a community where we can share our struggles and offer help, whether through prayer, encouragement, or practical assistance. God wants us to care for one another and lighten each other’s load. Today, let’s look for an opportunity to help someone in our church who may be facing a difficult time.

Session 18.5 — Praying for One Another
Read: James 5:16
James 5:16 encourages us to pray for one another, as prayer is a powerful way to support and care for each other. When we pray for our fellow believers, we are lifting them up to God and asking for His guidance, healing, and strength. Prayer strengthens the bond within the church and helps us grow closer to God and each other. Today, let’s pray for one church family member, asking God to bless them and meet their needs.
