Session 11.1 — What Is Faith?
Read: Hebrews 11:1
In Hebrews 11:1, faith is defined as the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Faith is trusting in what we cannot see because we believe in the promises and character of God. We trust things we cannot see because we have confidence in the one who made the promise. Faith helps us follow God by giving us the confidence to step forward, even when we don’t know the outcome. Today, let’s trust God with something we cannot see the answer to yet, knowing that He is faithful and trustworthy.
Session 11.2 — Commit Your Plans to the Lord
Read: Proverbs 16:3
Proverbs 16:3 teaches us to commit our works to the Lord and trust that He will establish our plans. To commit means to entrust our decisions and actions to God, asking for His guidance in all that we do. By giving our plans to God, we align our desires with His will, and He directs our steps. God is faithful to lead us and help us make wise choices. Today, let’s pray about one plan we have this week, asking God to guide our decisions and direct our paths.
Session 11.3 — Trust God When Afraid
Read: Psalm 56:3
Psalm 56:3 reminds us that when we are afraid, we should trust in God. Fear can overwhelm us, but faith in God gives us peace and courage to face challenges. Trusting God in our fear helps us focus on His power and promises rather than the circumstances that scare us. When we trust God, our feelings of fear are replaced with His peace and confidence. Today, let’s tell God one fear and choose to trust Him, knowing that He will help us overcome it.
Session 11.4 — Help My Unbelief
Read: Mark 9:24
In Mark 9:24, a man asks Jesus to help his unbelief, acknowledging that even though he believes, he struggles with doubts. It’s good to bring our doubts and weaknesses to Jesus because He understands and is able to strengthen our faith. Jesus helps our faith grow by teaching us, reassuring us, and showing us His power and love. Today, let’s ask Jesus to help us trust Him more, especially in areas where we struggle with doubt or fear.
Session 11.5 — Faith Comes by Hearing
Read: Romans 10:17
Romans 10:17 teaches that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The more we hear and meditate on God’s Word, the stronger our faith becomes. God’s Word builds our trust in Him because it reveals His truth, promises, and character. As a family, we can hear God’s Word more often by reading it together, listening to sermons, or discussing it in our daily lives. Today, let’s read one extra verse together, allowing God’s Word to deepen our faith and trust in Him.
